Octopus Solitaire is the latest free game from the creators of Valentine Crush!

Please read the following introductory note from the ODS Team:

After many years of wrangling and thousands of pages of forms, the Octopode government in the capital city has allowed us to share with you three solitaire games from their undersea world: Freecell, Pyramid, and Octopus (known to us land dwellers as Spider Solitaire).

They have also allowed us to share with you a sample of the bubbly underwater noise that passes for "music" in their world. We'll let you judge for yourself.

Twenty years ago, a game such as this would have been seen as an afront to the monarchy, and we would have been jailed as instigators of rebellion.

Today, things have changed. The King is rarely seen in public, and instead (it is rumored) frolics naked through the castle, chasing after his concubines and shouting out edicts that sensible government handlers dutifully dictate, but then ignore as the ravings of a drug-addled lunatic.

In his place, the citizenry of the undersea world have fashioned an anarcho-syndicalist commune of sorts, eschewing private ownership and abolishing the wage system, which they consider an archaic remnant of the failed regime, unsuited for the modern octopus.

Freedom doesn't come without its price, however, and that price comes in the form of a bloated bureacracy that takes into account everything from environmental effects to workers' contentment and social stability in every governmental action.

But we have braved the tangled Octopode bureacracy to bring you what is sure to be a first of many glimpses into this watery kingdom that is slowly opening itself up to the rest of the world. We hope you enjoy it!
